For practical, evidence based counselling and psychotherapy please contact me. I am a qualified mental health professional with over 30 years of experience in the field.
I have studied and was trained in Germany and Canada. My areas of practice and expertise include working through the effects of acute stress injury as well as historical trauma recovery (PTSD), anxiety, depression, substance use, biographical transitions, questions of faith and search for meaning. I’m comfortable with ethnic and cultural diversity, the process of grief and bereavement as well as chronic illness.
Our work together would be creative and informed by a neurobiological framework. I integrate my clinical hospital - and community outreach experience into my current work in private practice as it has added sensitivity and a strong commitment to trauma work.
My orientation to providing therapy includes relational/psychodynamic psychotherapy, dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness based stress reduction (MBSR) and a practical approach to the polyvagal theory model.
